The Table of Shewbread
1. Shewbread literally means bread of Face.
- a. Frankincense on the bread speaks of Jesus Christ as God as a life lived in the presence of God in a manner well pleasing.
2. The confidence that we are well pleasing to God is enjoyed by Faith.
3. Shewbread was called "continual bread" because it was continually Fresh bread before the Lord.
4. The cake of shewbread speaks of the Foretold Messiah.
5. The crown shows us that our security is found in a Sovereign God keeping us from Falling.
- a. The two crowns of the table of shewbread show us our double security in Christ's partnership with the Father.
