Death in Paradise (The Power of Questions)

Passage: Genesis 3:8-13
Service Type:
  1. Questions aren't always asked to discover fresh Content.
  2. Questions can be put in such a way that they can Change minds and Convert beliefs.
  3. God used questions to appeal to the Conscience and urge a Confession.
  4. When having to Confront someone, using questions rather than Comments is preferable.
    • A statement causes a listener to consider the speakers thoughts with a view to challenging them, whereas a question causes the listener to consider his own thoughts.
    • A statement made before knowing all the facts is careless. Whereas a question asked before knowing all the facts shows competence.
    • A statement indicates that you have come to a conclusion. Whereas a question indicates that you are still considering the matter,
    • A statement indicates that it is time for them to make a choice. Whereas a question gently guides the listener to make the right call.
    • An inaccurate statement causes the listener to cut off from you, whereas an inaccurate question allows the listener to clarify things for you.
