Paul's Preventative for a Pessimistic Outlook

Passage: 1 Corinthians 1:4-9
Service Type:
1. A Prescription for discouragement.
  • a) He starts his letter with Praise to God for all the Positive things God has done in their lives.
  • b) A Preface full of the Person of Christ.
2. Paul is grateful that they have a Past in which they were Persuaded to trust God's Promise of salvation.
  • a) They were enriched with a Proficient understanding of the gospel and were able to Present its message to others.
  • b) This understanding of the gospel was Proven in them and as a result, they had Plenty of gifts.
3. Paul was thankful that they were Prophetically alert, eagerly and Patiently waiting for the coming of the Lord.
4. Paul was also appreciative that God would Preserve them unto the end.
5. That we would not only have our record Purged of sin, but that we would be found Pristine in the Presence of Christ when we stand before Him.
6. Paul was grateful that the Corinthian Christians had entered into a Participation with Jesus Christ.
